Electrify Europe
Data 2010 → 2025Annual cadence (not monthly)

Electric vehicle registrations

The dynamics of mobility electrification: the share of electric vehicles in new and used passenger car registrations, and disparities across departments.

Passenger cars only (excluding light commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles and public transport).

Actual granularity: annual. ANNUAL, not monthly: the DiDo datafiles expose IMMAT_<year> columns at the municipal level (a single current edition vintage per datafile, e.g. 2026-02), with no monthly breakdown. See data/sources.json (source 'sdes-dido-immatriculations') and scripts/probe/dido-immatriculations.mjs for the actual probe that establishes this.

Fuel mix shift (new cars)

Fuel composition of new passenger car registrations, as a 100% stacked share. New cars are the frontier of electrification: this is where the electric share progresses fastest, at the expense of diesel then petrol.

EV fleet in circulation (stock)

Registrations measure the flow (cars put on the road each year); the fleet measures the stock (all passenger cars in circulation on 1 January). The electric share of the fleet rises more slowly than that of registrations, as it takes time for fleet turnover to work through.

Provisional data. Données de démonstration (fixture synthétique, schéma réel mais valeurs fabriquées — voir data/fixtures/parc/README.md), à remplacer par les données réelles au premier run CI complet du pipeline mensuel.

Quarterly fleet view (Agence ORE)

The SDES fleet is annual; Agence ORE (AAA Data) publishes the fleet quarterly. Here we track the share of plug-in electric passenger cars in the fleet in circulation — a four-times-finer cadence, and fresher than the annual snapshot.

Provisional data. Données de démonstration (fixture synthétique, schéma réel mais valeurs fabriquées — voir data/fixtures/agence-ore/README.md), à remplacer par les données réelles au premier run CI complet.
